noodle races
It just takes some masking tape and Melissa and Doug toys to turn your home into the biggest racing event this side of the living room. Create lanes along the carpet, up the couch and over the coffee table and let your little racers vroom and zoom all day long! Hop in, we’ll show you how it’s done.
What You’ll Need:
Diecast vehicles
Cardstock
Marker
Toothpicks or small dowels
Glue Stick
Tape
Scissors
Large diameter pool noodle
Serrated Knife
Duct Tape
Lay out the track using masking tape to create lanes, roads and intersections. Use caution when placing masking tape on some furniture—it may be difficult to remove from some materials! Get creative and defy gravity with roads up the couch, use remote controllers as bridges and other household objects as road hazards.
Now take the card stock to add some flair to your track. Cutout a diamond and fold it in half, then use a glue stick and small pieces of tape to fasten it to the toothpick. Make as many as you’d like and stick them into the sides of the pool noodle.
Cut card stock into a larger, rectangular size to create the “Start” and “Finish” signs. Tape the sign to toothpicks or wooden dowels, then stick them at the top and bottom of your race track.
Prop the noodle on an angle—a chair, steps or table make perfect slopes for fast-paced fun! After the pool noodle racetrack is in place, it’s time to let it rip!
